An alternate 5-waveform config file will be used. If everything looks good with the waveforms, I will be writing the data from the EGRIP flight lines to the local RAID array. If not, I will switch back over to the usual survey mode. 15:00 - Comments below, running just the normal survey mode. EGRIP first pass - 152407 z EGRIP second pass - 153734 z -------------------------------------------- Comments: -------------------------------------------- 11:09 - Had some time at high altitude over water at the beginning of flight. Took the opportunity to test out the 5-wf mode. Seemed to be collecting well, yielding a wavefrom graph that looked fairly similar to the normal survey mode for waveform 4 (nadir-steered). Did not bother collecting data at this point, due to high data rate. Will make the switch in flight at the appropriate time. 11:31 - Opened both the survey_mode and egrip .xml files to compare amplitude (in wordpad, no interruption to data collection). Noticed earlier that when running egrip mode, current consumption was ~10-11 amps, whereas survey mode draws around 15 amps. DDS Aux DAC amp is FF for both, all channels. It looks like the primary difference between the two is the taper. Is this RAM amplitude difference (for the taper) enough to draw that much less current? Maybe so. Idle wonderings, not necessarily important information. 11:55 - Some interesting data over the next five minutes. Two strong returns near bedrock? Maybe just clutter. Would still like to see that after processing. Took screenshot, saved to FO. Named screenshot_20140515_115828.png. 13:10 - Intensity graph looked very interesting. Saved a screenshot to FO. Named screenshot_20140515_130939.png. Actually, it still looks pretty odd at 13:12. I'm not sure what I'm seeing--it doesn't necessarily look WRONG, but it's definitely different. Saving another screenshot. This is just pretty interesting. Saved to FO. Named screenshot_20140515_131500.png. 15:00 - From all indications, we are sticking with normal surveying mode for the EGRIP fly-over. Will do so and collect data continuously for the rest of the flight. 18:33 - No problems with MCoRDS operation. -------------------------------------------- Ramp Pass: -------------------------------------------- No ramp pass -------------------------------------------- Pitch maneuver: -------------------------------------------- Altitude - 800 ft Time - 1836 Zulu
